The role of the EC is as detailed in Clause 6 of the SPAA (Constitution of the SPAA EC). Its key functions include managing key aspects of the changecontrol process, developing budgets, appointing the Secretariat and considering and approving applications from potential New Parties. Its membership consists of the following representatives:

EC members are elected annually by the Parties in relevant constituencies.

Alex Travell
Alex is an I&C Supplier member. Alex is a graduate in oil and gas exploration with over 10 years exeperience working in the energy industry. Initially he worked for a number of financial institutions in the City of London before working for Thames Water in the mid 1990's. Alex joined Eastern Natural Gas as competition in the downstream gas market expanded. He has since worked for TXU and now for E.ON in a variety of roles and is currently employed within the UK regulation team.
Chris Warner
Chris is a Large Transporter member. Chris has 31 years of service in the gas industry. He is a senior manager within National Grid Distribution's Regulation department and is responsible for contributing to the development of a number of industry contracts including the Uniform Network Code (UNC). Chris has been a regular participant in discussions at a variety of industry forums for many years and is an acknowledged authority in numerous areas of the UNC. Chris views the SPAA regime as a positve step in developing retail related aspects of gas governance and in promoting the supplier hub principle.
Andrew Pearson
Andrew is a Large Domestic Supplier Member. Andrew have worked in British Gas for over 30 years. Naturally I have had a variety of roles in that time but for most of this century my work has been in Regulatory, Metering and Transportation Services. Prior to this my prime responsibilities were for change and project management. After a role in Metering from 2003-2008 I have resumed and increased my participation in Industry Forums over the last 15 months. My background in metering, together with regulatory responsibilities, is helpful and appropriate for the high priority issues under discussion at industry level, particularly the evolution/revolution in Industry Codes and regulation that smart metering will drive.

Hazel is an I&C Supplier member.
Martin Brandt
Martin is a Large Domestic Supplier member. Martin has a detailed and extensive knowledge of the trading arrangements. His role with SSE brings him in close contact with the operational buisness so he is well aware of the commercial challenges to maintain first class customer service.
Sunny Vara
Sunny is a Small Domestic Supplier member.
Gethyn Howard
Gethyn is a Small Transporter member.
Simon Trivella
Simon Trivella is a Large Transporter member.
