Alternate Contract Managers during COVID-19
The SPAA Executive Committee (EC) has agreed a number of measures to support SPAA Parties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
One such measure is an option for Parties to provide alternate Contract Manager information for inclusion in the SPAA Operational Contacts list. This is aimed at mitigating the potential effects of sickness absence during the pandemic. Parties are invited to provide alternate Contract Manager information on a voluntary basis, and the Secretariat will ensure this is published on the SPAA website, clearly denoting that the contact is an alternate.

SPAA COVID-19 Arrangements
Following the outbreak of coronavirus, we want to assure you that the SPAA Secretariat will be acting pragmatically and proportionately in response to any issues that Parties may be experiencing. We will be taking steps to provide you with any support you need and point you towards the processes you need to follow.
We have successfully moved to provide a fully remote service. Teleconferencing and remote participation capabilities are being made available for every meeting, to ensure you can still join meetings during this unprecedented period. We are committed to providing as full a service as possible during this time, within the government’s restrictions.
ElectraLink’s Response to Coronavirus
In line with the government’s advice, to delay the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and to protect our staff and customers, ElectraLink’s senior management team has closed our offices in London and Nottingham. We are asking our customers not to travel to our offices until further notice.
With our proven capabilities to manage services remotely and host meetings virtually, we will continue providing services. Our comprehensive Business Continuity Plan includes detailed actions for how we will keep delivering services in the event of an outbreak, and our teams are prepared accordingly.
The SPAA Secretariat has prepared specific protocols to ensure core services will continue. ElectraLink will work with our business communities to identify priorities as needed, recognising in the event of widespread illness Parties could have a reduced amount of resources available.

We are taking extra precaution and encouraging customers to take the necessary steps to protect themselves.
Some of the key things we’ve done since we became aware of the coronavirus include:
- Carrying out a review of essential roles to ensure we have clear plans for coping with multiple absences within teams.
- Engaging with our key suppliers to understand their plans, and to ensure they are being developed appropriately.
We are confident in our ability to continue to deliver a high quality of service to you, irrespective of coronavirus.
